Samajwadi Party leader S.T. Hasan expressed disapproval of the movie “Dhurandhar 2” for depicting late SP MP Atiq Ahmed as having ties with Pakistan’s ISI, labeling it a publicity tactic. Hasan highlighted that official agencies have not confirmed such connections. He emphasized that films should not be seen as factual evidence.

Hasan criticized the film industry for using controversial themes to boost movie popularity. He suggested that media attention on such topics drives public interest, leading to commercial success. Hasan even alleged that filmmakers might receive funds from political parties to incite discord.

Waris Pathan, an AIMIM leader, joined in the criticism, accusing the film of fueling divisions through its content. Pathan condemned the alleged attempts to sow hatred and noted a history of propaganda films. The movie “Dhurandhar 2” has faced backlash for its portrayal of criminal and political figures with supposed foreign intelligence ties.
