Everyday AI usage by Indian consumers is one of the highest globally, as per Samsung Southwest Asia President and CEO, JB Park. The new Galaxy S26 series emphasizes enhanced privacy in the AI era. Samsung recently launched its latest flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, featuring a Privacy Display function that has garnered widespread approval in the tech sector.
India holds a crucial position in Samsung’s global innovation network, with significant contributions from engineers at Bengaluru and Noida R&D centers in developing the Galaxy S26 series. The manufacturing of the Galaxy S26 series takes place at Samsung’s Noida factory in India, highlighting the country’s strategic role in Samsung’s operations.
Park highlighted that the Privacy Display feature on the Galaxy S26 series marks a significant advancement in smartphone privacy. This feature, integrated directly into the display, enhances user privacy by limiting visibility from side angles, offering discreet protection seamlessly and intuitively. The Galaxy S26 series also prioritizes on-device privacy through personal context processing, ensuring sensitive data remains secure within the device.
The Galaxy S26 series introduces various AI agents that provide users with proactive suggestions and enhanced contextual awareness to simplify daily tasks. While users have access to multiple AI agents on the Galaxy S26, strict controls are in place to limit access to personal information solely for specific tasks. Park emphasized that all Galaxy AI experiences operate within Samsung’s Knox security framework, ensuring consistent technical and policy safeguards across the device, even with partner services involved. Personal data is safeguarded on-device, shared only when necessary, and not utilized for advertising purposes.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 series are now available in India through major online and offline retailers. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced starting at Rs 1,39,999, the Galaxy S26+ at Rs 1,19,999, and the base variant of S26 at Rs 87,999.
