Uddhav Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut criticized Sachin Ahir for joining Eknath Shinde’s camp, questioning the loyalty of those who switch sides for personal gain. Raut’s social media post hinted at the selfish motives of party defectors, sparking a debate within the state’s political circles.
Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray also expressed disappointment over Ahir’s exit, emphasizing the party’s long-standing support in areas like Worli and Sewri. He highlighted the contributions made to Ahir during his tenure and questioned the need for further appeasement.
In response, Ahir defended his actions, stating his commitment to fulfilling responsibilities given by Uddhav and Aaditya Thackeray. He rejected accusations of selfishness, pointing out his efforts to strengthen the party in Pune district and his dedicated service as a corporator, legislator, and minister.
