Shiv Sena-UBT’s Rajya Sabha member, Sanjay Raut, expressed happiness after meeting former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The meeting occurred just before a probable discussion in Lok Sabha regarding an Opposition resolution aiming to remove Speaker Om Birla due to alleged bias against the opposition. Raut, without disclosing the meeting’s purpose, shared pictures of the interaction on social media.
The Shiv Sena-UBT leader, Raut, mentioned in a post that he had a pleasant conversation with Dhankhar, the former Vice President of India. The meeting took place ahead of a crucial Lok Sabha session expected to address an Opposition resolution accusing Birla of displaying partiality towards the opposition during a recent parliamentary confrontation over General M.M. Naravane’s memoirs.
This interaction with Raut marked one of Dhankhar’s rare engagements with a politician since his resignation from the Vice President position due to health reasons in July last year. Following his resignation, Dhankhar had maintained a low profile until the swearing-in of the new Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, on September 12, 2025.
Dhankhar, post his Vice President tenure, resided at a farmhouse owned by senior INLD leader Abhay Chautala in Delhi’s Chhattarpur area, away from public attention for several months. Recently, he made a public appearance at the Jaipur Literature Festival, where he officially launched a book titled “The Unbecoming,” authored by his son-in-law, Kartikeya Vajpai.
