Amid the controversy surrounding the fatal plane crash involving former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut raised concerns about the ongoing investigation. Raut, at a press conference, criticized the credibility of the investigation and supported NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar’s claims of “foul play” and “sabotage.” He accused both central and state investigative agencies of operating under political influence, stating that public trust in these agencies has eroded.
Raut alleged that investigative agencies like the ED, CBI, IB, and state police have lost their impartiality under the current government. He claimed that probes into major incidents are biased to protect those in power. Raut highlighted that the aircraft involved in the crash originated from Gujarat, fueling public suspicion. He questioned the impartiality of investigations, citing a previous plane crash in Ahmedabad where nearly 300 people died.
Refusing to trust the authorities, Raut called for Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to take Rohit Pawar’s allegations seriously. He emphasized the need for a genuine investigation into the crash and criticized dismissive responses from officials. Raut also mentioned a meeting between NCP leaders and top government officials, expressing disappointment that the plane crash investigation did not receive priority.
As opposition leaders push for a transparent judicial inquiry into the crash, alleging government interference in the investigation, political tensions escalate. The demand for a high-level investigation grows amidst concerns of truth suppression by the government.
