India’s Saptak Talwar maintained his position for a potential Top-10 finish at the Blot Play9 on the Hotel Planner Tour with an even par third round of 70, featuring three birdies and bogeys each. Talwar, currently Tied-12th after three rounds, is a frontrunner on the DP World PGTI Tour rankings this season, having one more round to play.
The top performer on the DP World PGTI Tour earns a spot in the DP World Tour for the next season, while the Top-15 from Hotel Planner also secure a place in the main Tour, giving Talwar dual opportunities. He is currently placed within the Top-20 in the Hotel Planner rankings known as Road to Mallorca.
Having split his time between the PGTI and Hotel Planner Tour, Talwar showcased consistent performance with earlier rounds of 68 and 67 on the Par-70 course, bringing his total to 5-under for 54 holes.
In the final round of the Blot Play9, John Gough seized the lead with a four under par round of 66 in France, placing him at 12 under par in Pléneuf. Home favorite Maxence Giboudot and Spain’s Joseba Torres trailed closely at ten under par, two strokes behind Gough.
Gough, aiming for his first HotelPlanner Tour victory, has a history of strong performances at Blot Play9, including a fourth-place finish in the previous year’s edition in Brittany, where he closed with a remarkable round of 63, his joint highest finish of the season.
Giboudot finished strong with two birdies in the last three holes, carding a seven under par 63, the joint lowest round of the week. Meanwhile, Torres combined four birdies with an eagle, dropping only one shot to finish with a round of 65.
South African Bryce Easton and Spain’s Pablo Ereño share the fourth position at eight under par, while Dane Frederik Kjettrup and American Charles Huntzinger are one shot behind at seven under.
