The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital in Ahmedabad has treated a total of 14,53,638 outpatients (OPD) between 2019 and 2025, showcasing remarkable progress in its seven-year journey. Managed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and NHL Medical College, the hospital has witnessed significant growth in inpatient, surgical, laboratory, and radiology services during this period.
Over the years, the hospital’s OPD services have nearly tripled, with patient numbers rising from 1,27,764 in 2019 to 4,01,869 in 2025, indicating the increasing trust of Ahmedabad residents in the SVP Hospital. Inpatient admissions (IPD) have also seen a rise from 14,167 in 2019 to 31,332 in 2025, while surgical procedures have increased from 4,082 to 8,999 during the same timeframe.
The hospital’s surgical services have shown substantial growth, with the number of surgeries performed escalating from 4,082 in 2019 to 8,999 in 2025. Laboratory tests have surged from 1,65,874 in 2019 to 7,64,135 in 2025, and radiology investigations have grown from 68,418 to 2,28,092. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, 75,617 beneficiaries received treatment between 2019 and 2025, with the highest number of beneficiaries served by a single multi-specialty hospital in Ahmedabad.
Hospital officials credit this growth to the expansion of modern medical facilities, the presence of specialist doctors, and the provision of comprehensive treatment services.
