Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, known for creating the Ram Lalla idol for Ayodhya’s temple, expressed dismay over reports of theft of donations by temple staff. Despite this, he supported Temple Trust officials, especially general secretary Champat Rai, praising their integrity. Yogiraj, deeply pained by the embezzlement, highlighted the global devotees’ contributions made with faith and love.
The sculptor emphasized the significance of the stolen donations to Lord Ram devotees worldwide, suggesting that such incidents could shake their trust in the temple trustees. While condemning the theft, Yogiraj commended the Trust members for their transparency and dedication. He mentioned his long association with the Trust and vouched for the moral conduct of Champat Rai and other members.
Having spent months sculpting the Ram Lalla idol, Yogiraj found it hard to believe the irregularities under the Trust’s oversight. He acknowledged the Trust’s proactive approach in initiating a probe into the wrongdoing. Yogiraj recalled the Trust members’ past moral actions and expressed hope for swift justice against those involved in the misappropriation of temple funds.
