The search operation for a woman trekker missing on the Dayara Bugyal trekking route in Uttarkashi district has been escalated by multiple agencies working round-the-clock in the challenging mountainous terrain. District Magistrate Prashant Arya oversaw the rescue efforts from the Disaster Smart Control Room, ensuring all available resources are effectively utilized to locate the missing trekker promptly.
During his visit to the Control Room, the District Magistrate was briefed on the progress of the search operation, the deployment of rescue personnel, and the geographical challenges faced in the area. Officials highlighted the search and rescue measures taken so far, the resources mobilized by various departments, and the strategies employed to cover difficult terrain along the trekking route.
To enhance the search mission, Arya instructed officials to seek assistance from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Indian Army for improved coordination among multiple agencies. The District Magistrate emphasized the need for a comprehensive operation and close coordination among all concerned departments to expedite the location of the missing woman.
According to the district administration, joint teams including the Quick Response Team (QRT), the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Forest Department conducted extensive search operations in different directions from the Goi Camp towards the Raithal area. Search personnel combed dense forest patches, trekking trails, and remote pathways in the rugged and densely forested region.
Officials mentioned the challenging topography and dense vegetation making the operation difficult, but teams are working tirelessly to cover all possible routes and locations systematically. The rescue operation, involving teams from multiple agencies, continues without interruption as search personnel remain actively engaged in the field.
