The second group of pilgrims on the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra journeyed through Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir under tight security on Friday. The convoy followed a designated route with extensive security measures and facilitation by the administration to ensure a safe pilgrimage. Pilgrims from various states expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and highlighted the improved facilities and logistical support.
A devotee from Kanpur, on his 25th Amarnath Yatra, praised the arrangements and the pleasant weather. Another pilgrim, with 20 years of pilgrimage experience, noted the continuous enhancements in facilities and transport arrangements for sadhus. The pilgrims appreciated the coordinated services by sevadars from different states and described the atmosphere as peaceful and spiritually uplifting.
A total of 3,865 pilgrims embarked on the second batch of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 from Jammu, with 2,130 heading towards Pahalgam and 1,735 towards Baltal. The movement of yatris to the twin base camps continued under tight security and coordinated facilitation. Comprehensive security measures, including police, CAPFs, and medical assistance, have been deployed along the route to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu. He described the pilgrimage as a spiritual awakening and extended his wishes for a safe journey. Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma praised the Amarnath Yatra as a revered spiritual pilgrimage, while Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma expressed confidence in the safe and successful conduct of this year’s yatra.
