A second woman, Jyoti (20), passed away at Kota’s New Medical Hospital due to complications post Caesarean delivery. This incident has fueled anger among families and Opposition workers. Following her death, protests erupted outside the hospital demanding accountability and strict action against those responsible.
The tragic event unfolded after six women encountered kidney-related issues post their Caesarean surgeries at the government hospital’s gynaecology ward. Payal (28) had already succumbed on May 5, while the remaining patients are still under medical care. Efforts are being made to transfer some to Jaipur for advanced treatment.
Authorities are taking the matter seriously, with a technical investigation team formed to scrutinize the treatment procedures. Medical experts from Jaipur, including specialists from various departments, have been dispatched to assess the situation. The families of the affected women are seeking justice and answers amid allegations of negligence.
The hospital is under scrutiny for the women’s deteriorating health conditions post-surgery. While some patients are stable but not out of danger, others like Dhanni, Sushila, and Ragini are in critical states. The families are hesitant to approve their transfer to Jaipur for further treatment, highlighting the ongoing tension and concerns.
Rajasthan officials, including Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar, have visited the hospital to oversee the situation and ensure the best possible care for the affected women. Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes behind the tragic outcomes and to hold accountable those responsible for the lapses.
