Security forces in Manipur have detained six individuals, including three militants linked to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and two drug peddlers. The operations conducted in various districts led to the recovery of a significant amount of arms, ammunition, and explosives. Among the seized items were firearms, ammunition of different calibers, detonators, suspected IED components, and militant group paraphernalia.
In a separate operation, a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and combat-related supplies was found in the Mayai Leikai area under Heirok Police Station in Thoubal district. The recovered items included firearms, ammunition, tear smoke shells, bulletproof gear, combat clothing, and accessories. These materials have been handed over to the local police station for further investigation and legal procedures.
Additionally, security forces arrested two alleged drug peddlers in Imphal West and Thoubal districts, seizing a considerable amount of methamphetamine tablets and heroin. The individuals apprehended were found in possession of highly addictive drugs. Meanwhile, the Director General of Police, Manipur, visited the Imphal East District Police Headquarters to assess the law-and-order situation and operational readiness in the area.
