In a successful operation against Left-Wing Extremism, a joint team of the CRPF’s 214 Battalion and local District force discovered and neutralized a 5-kilogram Maoist-planted IED in the Kandlaparti area on December 28. The alert team averted a potential disaster by swiftly neutralizing the pressure-triggered explosive, highlighting the persistent threat posed by Maoists in the region. Following the IED’s disposal, security forces uncovered a hidden Maoist dump containing various materials for insurgent activities.
The recovered cache included firecrackers, wireless set batteries, mobile batteries, cordex wire with a pressure switch, electrical wires, tools, tarpaulin sheets, Maoist uniforms, documents, and literature essential for guerrilla operations. Security officials hailed the joint team’s quick action and vigilance, emphasizing the setback dealt to Maoist activities in the area. These dumps are crucial for Maoists in planning ambushes and sustaining operations in the forests.
This operation signifies the intensified anti-Naxal campaigns in Chhattisgarh, with new forward operating bases like Kandlaparti aiding in securing core areas for development projects. Ongoing search and area domination efforts aim to ensure lasting peace, protect villages, and encourage Maoist surrenders. The recent success against Maoists in Bastar reflects the security forces’ dedication to eradicating insurgency in the region.
