In a successful operation against left-wing extremism in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, security forces found a significant stash of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and Maoist resources hidden in dense forest areas. The operation, conducted jointly by various security units, uncovered 16 pressure IEDs strategically placed along a trail and in the surrounding woodland. These devices, camouflaged inside beer bottles by Maoist rebels, posed a serious threat to security personnel and locals.

Following specific intelligence inputs, teams including the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Madded police station officers, and CRPF’s 22nd Battalion launched a thorough search operation in the forested region. The Bomb Disposal Squad safely neutralized all 16 IEDs, averting any potential danger. Moreover, security forces unearthed a large Maoist cache buried in steel containers and plastic buckets across multiple underground locations in the forest belt.

The recovered items included 784 gelatin sticks weighing around 100 kg, cordex wire bundles, black uniform cloth, gunpowder, communication equipment, and various logistical supplies. This successful operation not only disrupted Maoist activities in the area but also deprived them of critical resources. By dismantling these threats and seizing essential supplies, security forces have significantly hindered the insurgents’ operational capabilities in Bijapur district.
