Security forces in Gaya district made a significant breakthrough by uncovering illegal weapons and explosive materials in a joint search operation near Dumri village. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 47th Battalion and local police collaborated on this operation. Led by Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar Maurya, the team acted on intelligence reports suggesting the presence of hidden arms and explosives in the forest area.
The search yielded various items associated with Naxal activities, including a muzzle-loading gun, an empty AK-47 shell casing, detonators, batteries, wires, and weapon-cleaning tools. Naxal groups often stash weapons in forests to avoid detection and use them in attacks. Authorities believe this recovery demonstrates the vigilance of security forces in monitoring Naxal operations and disrupting their plans effectively.
The timely operation likely averted a major incident being planned in the region. All seized materials have been handed over to Lutua Police Station for further legal procedures. Security patrols and combing operations have been intensified following the recovery, indicating a proactive stance against Naxal threats in the area.
