A senior Army officer recently visited the forward areas of the Red Shield Division in Manipur to assess the troops’ operational preparedness and review the security situation. Lt Gen Girish Kalia, the General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, conducted an aerial reconnaissance of areas affected by recent clashes and interacted with commanders and troops on the ground. He commended the troops for their professionalism and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
The Corps Commander also visited the Red Shield Drone Lab at Leimakhong Military Station, where he reviewed efforts in indigenous drone assembly and specialized training in drone warfare. He praised the troops for their technical expertise and innovative initiatives aimed at developing mission-oriented drone solutions. This visit highlighted the Indian Army’s dedication to enhancing technological capabilities and ensuring peace through vigilance and innovation.
In a separate development, two senior Border Security Force (BSF) officials met with Manipur’s Chief Minister to review the state’s law and order situation. The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing emerging challenges and maintaining peace and public safety across Manipur through coordinated and proactive measures.
