Amid the controversy surrounding alleged cow slaughter in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a senior assistant veterinary surgeon at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation was suspended by the Bhopal Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Singh, for failing to fulfill his duties properly. The suspension order cited that Beni Prasad Gaur, responsible for overseeing the city’s slaughterhouses, neglected his duties, leading to the suspension.
Following a complaint about suspicious cow meat transportation to Jahangirabad police station in Bhopal, an investigation revealed Gaur’s failure to perform his duties adequately. The suspension order mentioned that his negligence violated the conduct standards of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, resulting in his suspension from service. The suspension occurred amidst protests by Congress and BJP municipal councillors at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
Activists from various right-wing organizations, including the Bajrang Dal, have been protesting against the alleged cow slaughter in Bhopal. Recent protests outside the Bhopal Police Commissioner’s office and the Bhopal Municipal Corporation have drawn attention to the issue. Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishvas Sarang emphasized that strict actions would be taken against those involved in cow slaughter or illegal meat transportation.
