Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds the record for being the longest-serving Prime Minister elected repeatedly in a democratic system. Narayanaswamy expressed confidence in the BJP’s future, predicting two more terms for PM Modi and India becoming the world’s top economy by 2047.
Commenting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Narayanaswamy accused Congress of opposing the process out of fear, likening it to weeding out duplicates from voter lists. He criticized Congress policies, claiming the BJP had spent years rectifying their mistakes, leading to delayed development in the country.
Narayanaswamy emphasized PM Modi’s long-term governance under a democratic framework, surpassing the terms of past leaders like Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh. He urged Congress leaders to respect democracy, highlighting Modi’s repeated electoral victories and questioning Congress’s understanding of historical facts.
On the issue of rising cooking gas prices, Narayanaswamy attributed it to global conflicts impacting energy supplies. He contrasted the governance standards of Congress-led governments with the corruption-free Modi administration, citing increased public awareness and transparency in the current administration’s functioning.
