Senior Congress leader Husain Dalwai criticized any threats or attacks on individuals for expressing political opinions. He disagreed with former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad’s comments about Rahul Gandhi, emphasizing that resorting to intimidation or violence is inappropriate in a democracy. Dalwai stressed the importance of addressing political disagreements through dialogue and debate.

Dalwai expressed disapproval of Shakeel Ahmad’s language towards the Congress leadership, stating that criticizing Rahul Gandhi’s politics is acceptable but calling him a coward is inaccurate. He highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s confrontations with the BJP, stating that Rahul Gandhi has consistently stood up against the BJP. Dalwai dismissed speculations about Shakeel Ahmad joining the BJP, describing him as a deeply secular and passionate individual unlikely to switch parties.

Former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad raised concerns about his safety after criticizing Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his life was under threat. Ahmad, who had resigned from the Congress after the Bihar Assembly elections, alleged that the Congress high command had instructed an attack on his residences in Patna and Madhubani. The internal turmoil within the Congress has led to dissenting voices and public criticisms, emphasizing the importance of respectful internal discussions while maintaining unity against the BJP.
