Senior Congress MP Manickam Tagore has criticized recent attacks on party leadership, labeling them as betrayal during a crucial time when unity is essential.
In a social media post, Tagore expressed disappointment over what he called the “New Batch of Betrayers,” specifically mentioning individuals like Shakeel Ahmed and former BSP member Rashid Alvi for their criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Tagore emphasized the significance of Gandhi’s extensive marches, covering thousands of kilometers to promote unity, justice, and dignity, and criticized the motives behind the recent attacks as driven by personal gain rather than genuine concern for the party or its ideology.
He accused some of these critics, including current government ministers, MPs, a Chief Minister, and others, of prioritizing personal interests over the welfare of the party, drawing parallels to historical figures associated with betrayal.
Defending Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Tagore highlighted his efforts in revitalizing the party’s political presence and countering divisive narratives with messages of love and perseverance.
Tagore concluded by asserting that the ongoing attacks not only disrespect Gandhi but also undermine the legacy of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, emphasizing the need for integrity and dedication in political leadership.
