Hollywood actor Seth Rogen is returning to directing after a 12-year hiatus. Rogen’s last directorial venture was ‘The Interview’, a film that almost sparked a conflict, as per ‘Female First UK’. Despite the controversy surrounding the movie, Rogen is eager to step behind the camera for a new film next year.
Rogen, known for his work in TV projects post-‘The Interview’, felt hesitant about directing a film due to the uproar caused by the movie. In ‘The Interview’, Rogen and James Franco portrayed journalists involved in a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, leading to threats from North Korea and a subsequent hacking of Sony Pictures.
Although Rogen expressed some reservations about directing another film after the tumultuous reception of ‘The Interview’, he found joy in solely acting in his recent movie ‘The Invite’. In this film, which also stars Penelope Cruz, Edward Norton, and Olivia Wilde, Rogen appreciated being solely in front of the camera.
Rogen praised Olivia Wilde’s dual role as director and actor in ‘The Invite’, commending her bold and impressive performance in both capacities. Despite enjoying working with actor-directors, Rogen emphasized Wilde’s exceptional talent and courage in taking on both roles simultaneously.
Rogen made it clear that he has no intentions of collaborating with James Franco in the future. Following allegations of sexual misconduct against Franco in 2018, Rogen distanced himself from the actor. Despite Franco’s denial of the allegations, he has maintained a low profile in Hollywood since then.
