Seven individuals, including three children, tragically lost their lives when a government-run Bowring Hospital’s compound wall collapsed in Shivajinagar due to heavy rain. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the site and criticized officials for alleged negligence. He announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased and ensured free treatment for the injured.

Siddaramaiah, deeply saddened by the incident, questioned officials about preventive measures and coordination among departments. He emphasized that the tragedy could have been averted with proper precautions and reprimanded officials for their negligence. The collapse occurred near Bowring Hospital, affecting street vendors and others seeking shelter from the rain.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy also expressed shock over the deaths and urged the government to provide emergency treatment and support to the affected families. He called for a thorough investigation into the incident and demanded accountability for the collapse of the hospital wall. Kumaraswamy stressed the importance of proactive measures to prevent such disasters in the future.
