Seven individuals, including six police personnel, lost their lives in separate attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In Kohat district, assailants targeted a police vehicle, resulting in the deaths of six police officers and one civilian. The attackers also set the vehicle on fire after the assault.
In another incident in Karak, three Federal Constabulary (FC) men were killed when their ambulance, transporting injured personnel from a quadcopter attack, was ambushed. The injured FC men were being taken to a hospital when the attack occurred.
On February 16, a suicide car bombing at a joint checkpost in Bajaur district claimed the lives of 11 Pakistani security personnel. The attack, carried out with an explosive-laden vehicle, destroyed a Frontier Corps security post near the Afghanistan border.
Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire deal with the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) in 2022.
