Leader of Opposition in Seychelles National Assembly, Bernard Georges, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Sunday, stating that it would inspire political leaders in Seychelles to view India as a model of unity in diversity.
During a special session at the National Assembly, Georges expressed gratitude to India for its support to Seychelles across various sectors over the past five decades. He acknowledged the political differences in Seychelles and mentioned that the opposition would not participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of Seychelles National Day.
Georges emphasized the strong ties between Seychelles and India, highlighting the involvement of Indian nationals in key positions within the Seychelles government and the significant contribution of the Indian diaspora to the country’s economy, particularly in the construction industry.
