Both leaders endorsed a joint vision for sustainability, economic growth, and security, emphasizing India’s commitment to supporting Seychelles’ national development agenda.
India announced a ‘Special Economic Package’ of USD 175 million for Seychelles, comprising financial aid for various development projects and capacity building initiatives. PM Modi donated ambulances to Seychelles and discussed streamlining procurement of essential medicines through the Indian Pharmacopoeia. The leaders agreed to collaborate on mental health training programs and exchange visits, aiming to address Seychelles’ healthcare needs.
Furthermore, PM Modi and Herminie pledged to strengthen cooperation in public health, including supporting the construction of a new hospital in Seychelles. They also committed to deepening collaboration in renewable energy and climate resilience, with a focus on clean energy solutions and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems. India will provide technical assistance for managing Seychelles’ power grid and transitioning to green public transport, fostering sustainable energy practices in the country.
