SG Pipers showcased a blend of solid defense and attacking prowess in a 2-0 victory over Ranchi Royals to kick off the 2025-26 Women’s Hockey India League season. Led by Udita, Jyoti Singh, and Lola Riera, the Pipers’ defense stood firm in the face of relentless pressure from the Royals in the first quarter, maintaining a goalless scoreline.

In the second quarter, goalkeeper Bansari Solanki’s exceptional saves denied Ranchi Royals any breakthroughs, while Navneet Kaur’s penalty corner conversion gave SG Pipers a 1-0 lead. The team’s cohesive attack and solid defense in the following quarters kept Ranchi Royals at bay, with Teresa Viana sealing the victory with a goal in the final quarter.

SG Pipers’ dominant performance secured a clean sheet and a comfortable win, setting a strong start to their campaign in the Women’s Hockey India League.
