SG Pipers Defeat Ranchi Royals 2-0 in Women’s Hockey India League Opener

Navneet Kaur and Teresa Viana scored for SG Pipers in a 2-0 victory over Ranchi Royals in the Women’s Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 Season opener. The match started with intense action from both teams, with strong defenses dominating the first quarter.

Rutuja Dadaso Pisal earned a penalty corner for Ranchi Royals, but the opportunity was missed as Maria Ortiz’s shot was saved. SG Pipers took the lead with Navneet Kaur converting a penalty corner in the 27th minute. Despite efforts from Ranchi Royals, they couldn’t find an equalizer in the third quarter.

In the second half, Teresa Viana extended SG Pipers’ lead to 2-0 in the 46th minute. The Pipers maintained their advantage till the end, securing a strong start to their Hero HIL campaign. All Hockey India League matches will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 3, and DD Sports.
