Shah Rukh Khan reminisced about his initial awkward encounter with Kajol on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. During the filming of ‘Baazigar’ on New Year’s Day, Shah Rukh, still recovering from a hangover, found Kajol’s high energy levels irritating. Despite Kajol’s early bedtime habits, she exuded enthusiasm on set, contrasting with the tense atmosphere.
The actor shared that he had a personal rule to work on New Year’s Day, regardless of his condition. Observing Kajol’s vivacity, he was so put off that he vowed never to collaborate with her again. Shah Rukh Khan candidly admitted that he had made a firm decision at that moment, swearing he would not work with her in the future.
Directed by Abbas–Mustan and produced by Venus Movies, ‘Baazigar’ is loosely inspired by the 1991 film ‘A Kiss Before Dying’, which itself is based on Ira Levin’s 1953 novel of the same name. Despite their rocky start, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol went on to star in several iconic films together, including ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)’.
