If industry sources are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan will portray a cop in Rajinikanth’s upcoming action film ‘Jailer 2’. Previously, it was reported that only Shah Rukh Khan’s scenes were pending, and he would start filming in March for about seven to eight days, wrapping up the movie. His role is described as an extended cameo.
The much-anticipated ‘Jailer 2’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has created significant excitement among fans and movie enthusiasts. The film is expected to deliver high-octane action and entertainment similar to its blockbuster predecessor, ‘Jailer 1’, which earned a massive 650 crores globally. ‘Jailer 1’ received positive reviews and had a strong opening, making 33 crores on the first day, the highest in Rajinikanth’s career.
Sources close to the production unit reveal that ‘Jailer 2’ is following the successful formula of its predecessor. Rajinikanth celebrated his 75th birthday on the set of ‘Jailer 2’ last year, where shooting commenced in Chennai. The film features an ensemble cast including Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, and Mirnaa, with Anirudh composing the music.
Actress Ramya Krishnan, playing Vijaya Pandian in the film, shared her excitement about shooting for ‘Jailer 2’ in Kerala. Additionally, Mirnaa, portraying Swetha Pandian, and other stars like Mohanlal and Vijay Sethupathi have crucial roles in the sequel. The movie has garnered attention with a captivating teaser released by Sun Pictures, the production house behind the film.
