Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth in Uttarakhand appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments on the Somnath Temple, highlighting the enduring spirit of faith despite historical challenges. He mentioned that PM Modi’s post marking 1,000 years since the temple’s attack by Mahmud Ghazni resonated the pain of the past destruction and emphasized the temple’s resilience over time.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati interpreted PM Modi’s message as a reminder that while physical structures may be destroyed, the spirit and legacy of places like Somnath endure. He emphasized that despite attempts to erase its history, Somnath has stood the test of time, sending a strong message against such acts in the future.

The Shankaracharya commended PM Modi’s statement as a timely warning for those who seek to harm cultural heritage sites. He expressed support for the Prime Minister’s stance and called for the removal of Ghazni’s name from places in India as a symbolic gesture against historical atrocities.

PM Modi’s recent remarks on the Somnath Temple highlighted the temple’s significance as a symbol of India’s unwavering spirit, emphasizing that faith and conviction prevail over transient acts of destruction. He underscored the temple’s resilience through centuries of challenges, portraying it as a testament to India’s enduring cultural ethos.
