NCP-SP Chief Sharad Pawar was taken from Baramati to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday for a medical examination after experiencing a persistent cough. The veteran leader is reportedly suffering from a severe cough and facing breathing difficulties. Symptoms worsened on Sunday night, prompting immediate hospitalization as confirmed by his nephew, Shrinivas Pawar.
Purvez Grant, the head of Ruby Hall Clinic, has been briefed on the situation and will assess whether Sharad Pawar requires admission or can be discharged post-treatment. Sharad Pawar’s daughter and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Supriya Sule, is currently by his side at the hospital.
Grant mentioned, “Sharad Pawar has been dealing with a cough since morning. We will conduct an examination shortly to determine the necessary treatment. Depending on his clinical condition, we may admit him if needed.” A specialized medical team is closely monitoring his health status and conducting various diagnostic tests.
The hospital administration emphasized that the primary concern is Sharad Pawar’s severe cough, and any decision regarding hospitalization will be taken after a comprehensive evaluation. Sharad Pawar, who recently lost his nephew Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, has been shuttling between Baramati, Mumbai, and Pune. He had previously undergone surgery for oral cancer and subsequent treatments in India and the US.
