Shashi Tharoor criticizes Nitish Kumar over hijab incident

Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his involvement in a hijab-related controversy. Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan downplayed the issue, calling it unfortunate and stating that Nitish Kumar is like a father figure. The video sparked political debates and objections from opposition parties, extending beyond Bihar to Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and even reaching Pakistan. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan clarified that he was not defending the Chief Minister but highlighted Nitish Kumar’s view of considering everyone as his daughter. He urged the woman involved, Dr. Nusrat Parveen, to report for duty and appealed to political parties not to politicize the matter. However, Dr. Nusrat Parveen did not report for duty as of Saturday, with uncertainty surrounding her decision to join.
