Sheena Chohan As RANI in Director Vino Vikraman Pillai’s Arjunanin Allirani The Biggest Tamil Folk Drama- Actress To Undergo Intense  Physical Transformation. Sheena Chohan Announced as Female Lead in Tamil Folk Drama ‘Arjunanin Allirani’ helmed by Vino Vikraman Pillai.

Actress Sheena Chohan has officially been announced as the female lead in the upcoming Tamil folk drama Arjunanin Allirani, marking a significant new chapter in her pan-Indian career. The film brings together an acclaimed creative team, with celebrated Tamil author B. Jeyamohan (Ponniyin Selvan: I) as the writer, Vino Vikraman Pillai (Kafir) as director, and legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja on music.

Produced by Irfan Khan under the banner EBG Films, Arjunanin Allirani narrates the poignant story of two struggling artists—a folk dancer and a Dalit singer—whose lives are deeply intertwined through art, love, and survival. The film explores how they build a family against all odds, only for tragedy to strike, leaving the female protagonist to navigate loss, grief, and injustice. Her journey of resilience unfolds as she transforms her pain into powerful, empathic singing in her pursuit of dignity and justice.

Sheena will be seen as Rani, a complex and layered character portrayed across four phases of life, from adolescence to middle age. The role demands intense emotional depth as well as physical transformation. To authentically inhabit the character, Sheena will undergo rigorous training in Chilambattam, a traditional Tamil martial art involving stick combat.

Director Vino Vikraman Pillai described the casting as “serendipitous,” citing Sheena’s discipline, commitment, and martial arts background as key reasons she was ideally suited for the demanding role. Industry observers see the project as a strong addition to performance-driven, socially conscious cinema.

The announcement follows Sheena’s widely acclaimed Hindi debut in the biopic Sant Tukaram, where her performance was praised as the emotional core of the film. A human rights ambassador and recipient of the Hero Award at the UN, Sheena continues to align her on-screen choices with meaningful narratives rooted in social justice. Sheena continues to grow as a versatile talent, known for  performance-driven pan-Indian cinema, continuing her trajectory of choosing layered, content-rich characters.

As 2025 draws to a close, Arjunanin Allirani stands out as a defining year-end announcement. Sheena will next be seen playing a police officer opposite J.D. Chakraborty in an upcoming pan-India South film slated for release in early 2026, marking her as a pan-India power-packed performer to watch.
