Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia criticized Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring for allegedly obstructing a CBI inquiry into the death of government official Gagandeep Randhawa. Majithia claimed that Warring, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s influence, opposed the CBI probe due to his involvement in a corruption case related to Rajasthan bus bodies. Despite the Leader of Opposition’s call for a CBI investigation, Warring took a different stance, causing division among opposition voices.
Majithia accused Warring of trying to fragment opposition voices at the Chief Minister’s behest. He highlighted that Congress MPs Raja Warring, Amar Singh, and Sher Singh Ghubaya did not write to the Union Home Minister to request a CBI inquiry for Gagandeep, despite the possibility raised by Amit Shah during a session. Majithia urged the Congress leadership to clarify its stance on Warring’s actions, alleging that they were aiding the government in concealing potential corruption within the Aam Aadmi Party ministers.
Demanding accountability, Majithia warned of a perceived understanding between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, implicating even Rahul Gandhi. He alleged a covert agreement between the two parties, with the Punjab Congress president defending a government that he claimed only feigned integrity.
