The Shiromani Akali Dal announced plans to showcase Diljit Dosanj’s movie “Satluj” throughout Punjab. The party aims to educate the youth about past tragedies and injustices faced by Sikh individuals. The film portrays the historical challenges faced by Punjab, including the repression against Sikh youth.
Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu dismissed claims linking the BJP or Central government to the film’s removal from the OTT platform. He clarified that the depicted events occurred during Congress-led administrations in Punjab and India. Bittu emphasized that attributing the film’s removal to the BJP is unfounded and politically motivated.
Regulatory frameworks for films differ between theatrical releases and television broadcasts, Bittu explained. He highlighted that the decision to remove “Satluj” from ZEE5 cannot be associated with the BJP or the Central government based on factual and legal grounds.
