Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena founder Raj Thackeray expressed concerns that the BJP is now depending on financial power and administrative coercion rather than ideological appeal. They highlighted in an interview that the BJP’s political influence in Maharashtra has waned, likening it to an expired product being repackaged. Raj Thackeray emphasized that the BJP is relying on borrowed mandates and has lost its original strength in the state.
The Thackeray cousins urged voters to scrutinize the political landscape before the upcoming elections, cautioning against supporting the current alliance, which they likened to consuming expired medicine. They criticized the BJP for absorbing leaders from other parties and resorting to divisive tactics to maintain power, claiming that the party’s original character has eroded.
Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray accused the BJP of targeting Mumbai’s resources and attempting to control the city like a colony. They raised concerns about the BJP’s alleged divide-and-rule strategies and emphasized the importance of preserving the Marathi identity and unity in the face of external influences. The leaders also criticized the BJP’s handling of corruption issues and its perceived interference in Maharashtra’s autonomy.
