The Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, launched a strong critique against the BJP, accusing them of insincere patriotism and Hindutva, likening them to the descendants of Ravana. The party emphasized that despite the BJP’s portrayal of Ravana as evil, he was not a hypocritical Hindu and did not steal donations from Ram temples, unlike the BJP.
In an editorial in the party’s publication ‘Saamana,’ the Thackeray camp expressed deep concern over the lack of remorse for the looting of Lord Ram’s belongings, the theft of national resources, and the erosion of democracy and the Constitution. They warned that if such actions are accepted as politics, even divine intervention may not save the country from the prevailing era of selfishness, immorality, and corruption.
The editorial highlighted instances of alleged looting of donations from Ayodhya and reported Chinese encroachment in Arunachal Pradesh. It criticized the BJP for allegedly protecting the thieves involved in the Ram Mandir incident and failing to address China’s incursions into Indian territory.
The Shiv Sena accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP of remaining silent on China’s land-grabbing activities. They criticized the government for its perceived inaction in responding to Chinese aggression, contrasting it with their aggressive stance against other neighboring countries.
The editorial concluded by condemning the BJP’s claims of being the true custodians of Hindutva while allegedly failing to protect Indian interests from external threats like China. It accused the BJP of prioritizing political gains over national security and criticized their response to Chinese provocations.
