Amid criticism of Delhi Police’s use of force on students during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut likened it to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Raut emphasized the active role of the Opposition and activist Abhijit Dipke in the protests. He highlighted the unity of various political parties in supporting the agitation.
Raut dismissed claims of the Opposition’s absence during the protests, stating that their collective support has fueled the movement. He criticized Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah for the police’s actions, equating it to the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. Raut called the crackdown a dark day for Indian democracy and urged the Opposition to lead and expand the movement nationally.
Shiv Sena’s Aaditya Thackeray and MNS leader Amit Thackeray also condemned the police’s actions. Aaditya Thackeray questioned the government’s oppressive stance, while Amit Thackeray criticized the BJP-led Central Government for its handling of the protests. Amit Thackeray expressed concern over the situation and urged the government to address student issues with sensitivity.
