Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut reiterated his belief that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would soon become the Union Education Minister, despite Fadnavis denying this. Raut suggested that someone outside the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) should lead educational reforms, drawing a comparison to past appointments like Dr. Manmohan Singh as Finance Minister in 1991.

Raut recommended figures like Nandan Nilekani for the Education Ministry but acknowledged Fadnavis as a suitable choice if considered. He confidently stated that Fadnavis would indeed be the next Union Education Minister, regardless of denials.

Dismissing Fadnavis’s claims of staying in Maharashtra politics, Raut argued that the final decision did not rest with the chief minister. He criticized the RSS-influenced education system, alleging it hinders progress for underprivileged children while politicians’ offspring study abroad.

Raut condemned the BJP for allegedly regressing India’s education system over the past decade, contrasting it with the progressive approaches of past leaders like Nehru and Singh. He accused the BJP of replacing modern education with outdated ideologies, leaving disadvantaged students in a flawed system.

Raut also criticized the BJP for shifting focus from modern education to traditional concepts, calling for an apology for undermining the country’s educational foundation. He responded to Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s remarks on protests and announced plans for the Opposition’s next protest in Thane.

Questioning the new education leadership’s credentials and the efficacy of proposed legislation, Raut highlighted the need for accountability in addressing issues like police crackdowns on student protests.
