The Shiv Sena expressed worry about the fate of Mumbai and the Marathi Manoos following what it called chaotic election outcomes in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and other civic bodies. Alleging electoral irregularities like EVM manipulation and voter bribery, the party questioned who would safeguard the interests of the Marathi community in Mumbai. The editorial emphasized that the setbacks faced by the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena were not just political defeats but a betrayal of Mumbai’s heritage.

The editorial highlighted the significance of protecting Mumbai’s essence and Marathi identity, stating that despite challenges, the fight is ongoing. It criticized attempts to hand over Mumbai to corporate interests with BJP support, drawing a parallel to historical events. The editorial accused a corporate force, backed by the BJP, of trying to control Mumbai through alleged corruption and electoral malpractices, signaling a serious threat to Maharashtra and its people.

The Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece criticized the ruling establishment for diluting the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray and using financial resources against the Marathi people. It vowed to continue the battle to preserve Mumbai’s culture despite adversities. The editorial also raised concerns about the manipulation of municipal elections and voter disenfranchisement, accusing officials of favoring the ruling party. It warned against the BJP’s purported agenda to install an industry-friendly mayor in Mumbai, labeling it as an insult to Marathi identity.
