Shiv Sena Spokesperson Krishna Hegde has urged the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the digital-only political satire group ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) and its 15 million Instagram followers. He raised concerns about potential attempts to sow unrest in India, similar to incidents in Nepal and Bangladesh. Hegde emphasized the need for scrutiny into the involvement of individuals, including Rahul Gandhi, associated with the CJP.
Hegde highlighted the importance of examining the individuals managing the CJP’s social media accounts. He linked the emergence of the satirical movement to recent controversies, particularly Chief Justice of India Surya Kant’s comments during a court session on May 15. Additionally, he welcomed the enforcement of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against cow smugglers in the state, emphasizing the significance of protecting cows.
The Shiv Sena Spokesperson condemned statements made by Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) Chief Humayun Kabir regarding ritualistic animal sacrifice during the upcoming Bakrid festival. Hegde stressed the need to respect religious sentiments and criticized Kabir for potentially offending Hindu beliefs. He called on the West Bengal government to take action against Kabir for his remarks.
Regarding Prime Minister Modi’s focus on ‘Ease of Living, Business’ reforms for ‘Viksit Bharat,’ Hegde expressed confidence in India’s preparedness to achieve the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision. He mentioned that specific targets, budgets, and responsibilities have been allocated to departments, with PM Modi overseeing the progress closely to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes for the benefit of the public.
