Shiv Sena-UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi has requested Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu to speed up the investigation into the Air India Flight AI-171 crash. Families of the victims are seeking closure nearly a year after the tragedy. Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of making the final report public soon to address the ongoing distress of the affected families.
Chaturvedi highlighted the families’ continued suffering and emphasized the necessity of transparency in the investigation process. As the first anniversary of the crash approaches, she expressed the families’ growing concerns about the delay in the investigation findings. She stressed the families’ need for closure and a thorough and transparent determination of the facts surrounding the incident.
The leader also mentioned the relentless efforts of victims’ families to seek answers, including the 92-year-old father of the late Captain Sumeet Sabharwal. The father’s persistent quest for clarity on the accident’s circumstances reflects the deep pain experienced by many affected families. Chaturvedi pointed out that these families are not just seeking information but closure based on an unbiased and reliable investigation outcome.
Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of providing clarity on the investigation’s progress as the first anniversary of the tragic event approaches. She urged the minister to intervene and ensure that the affected families receive updates on the investigation’s status. The former Rajya Sabha member stressed that the families of the 260 victims deserve both justice and closure.
