Shiv Sena-UBT legislator Ambadas Danve criticized the Maharashtra government, alleging widespread corruption in the Revenue and Urban Development departments during a State Legislative Council discussion. Danve highlighted issues including law and order, women’s safety, institutionalized corruption, tribal land encroachments, stamp duty scams, and irregularities in various government bodies.
He claimed that corruption in the state has become ingrained, with contractors reportedly paying up to a 54% commission to secure government projects. Danve also raised concerns about women’s security, citing data showing a high number of missing women and minor girls in the past year, and pointed out the deteriorating law and order situation with increasing crimes against children and women.
Danve further accused the government of turning a blind eye to various scams within CIDCO, MHADA, and municipal corporations, demanding thorough investigations into alleged irregularities. He also highlighted instances of police insensitivity, including delays in medical examinations for sexual assault survivors, and criticized the government’s handling of controversial statements regarding historical figures.
