Shivamogga Yodhas secured a spot in the final of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament by defeating Coastal Kings Mangaluru with a four-wicket victory at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Dhanush Gowda’s four-wicket haul, along with contributions from Shreesha Achar and Naveen MG, limited Coastal Kings Mangaluru to 143/8. Aneesh KV’s unbeaten 55 off 39 and Sujay Sateri’s 31 off 25 guided the Yodhas to victory.
In response, Coastal Kings Mangaluru, led by Santok Singh’s early breakthroughs, had a strong start in the second innings. Despite Singh dismissing key players like Luvnith Sisodia and Tushar Singh, Aneesh KV’s resilient batting turned the game in favor of Shivamogga Yodhas. Aneesh’s aggressive innings, supported by Harshil Dharmani and Sujay Sateri, ensured the Yodhas maintained a steady run rate to clinch the win.
Dhanush Gowda’s impactful bowling in the first innings disrupted Coastal Kings Mangaluru’s momentum, consistently breaking their partnerships. Gowda’s crucial wickets, including that of opener Nikin Jose and key batsmen like Karun Nair, played a pivotal role in restricting the opposition. Coastal Kings Mangaluru, despite promising performances from Nair and others, faltered towards the end, posting a competitive but chaseable total.
