Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Seva Samiti’s general secretary, Achyut Shankar Shukla, has urged the Central government to intervene in investigating the alleged misappropriation of funds and donations for the Ram Temple. He emphasized that since the formation of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was directed by the Supreme Court and executed by the Central government, their involvement in the investigation would be appropriate.
Shukla highlighted the significance of the Central government’s role in the probe, suggesting that transferring the investigation to agencies like the CBI or ED could ensure a thorough inquiry. He also defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s integrity, stating that questioning their faith was unwarranted given their devotion to Lord Ram.
In response to queries about bureaucratic oversight of the Trust, Shukla emphasized that religious matters should be managed by those knowledgeable in the faith. He clarified that while religious leaders should handle worship rituals, bureaucratic assistance could be sought for fund security and devotee arrangements.
Regarding the recent arrests related to the alleged embezzlement, Shukla mentioned that the accused individuals were Trust employees with proper identification. He expressed uncertainty about whether they were acting under instructions and recounted instances where the accused facilitated Samiti’s interactions with the Trust.
Shukla also noted the challenges faced in organizing festivities due to inadequate support from the Ram Mandir Trust, suggesting that police and administrative assistance was crucial for successful event management.
