The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust confirmed the safety of all religious and historical artifacts under its care, refuting claims of missing sacred items. Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri assured that the Trust meticulously maintains records of about 2,800 significant objects, including the Ramayan and Charan Paduka.
Amid an investigation into alleged embezzlement of temple donations, the Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. Trustee Krishna Mohan has been appointed as the interim General Secretary, succeeding Champat Rai.
Addressing concerns over the resignations, Treasurer Govind Dev Giri explained that the Trust constitution mandates immediate acceptance of resignations from office-bearers. Although Champat Rai has not been implicated in the donation theft case, his resignation is seen as a move towards ensuring moral accountability within the Trust.
Trustee Krishna Mohan emphasized the restoration of devotees’ trust as a top priority. He pledged to enhance monitoring mechanisms, address procedural gaps, and enhance transparency. The Trust is actively cooperating with the ongoing Special Investigation Team’s probe into the alleged financial irregularities.
