Siddharth Semwal surged ahead with a four-under 68 in the second round, securing a two-shot lead at five-under 139 in the DP World PGTI NexGen 2026 at Gurugram’s Golden Greens Golf & Country Club. Delhi’s Semwal, who was tied 10th overnight, notched six birdies and two bogeys to claim the top spot at the INR 25 lakh event. Arjunveer Shishir and Vishav Pratap Singh Gill shared the second spot at three-under 141, while Aryav Shah slipped to tied fourth with a 74 in the second round, totaling two-under 142.
The cut was set at five-over 149, allowing the top 38 players to advance in the tournament. The DP World PGTI introduced the NexGen Tour last year to offer equal opportunities to Indian Professional Golfers and enhance the country’s golf talent pool, fostering competition and skill development. The NexGen initiative also aims to extend professional golf to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India, broadening the sport’s accessibility across the nation.
The NexGen 2026 season commenced at the Aravalli Golf Club in Faridabad, where Abhishek Kumar’s remarkable eight-under 64 in the final round secured a remarkable comeback victory in the first leg. The subsequent NexGen Phillaur Open 2026 saw Lucknow’s Rajesh Kumar Gautam triumph in a playoff after finishing level with Pankaj Maandiya and Aditya Raj Singh Chahal at six-under 207.
Following events at Lucknow Golf Club and Ranjitgarh Golf Club, the final NexGen event of the 2026 season is scheduled at Patna Golf Club from March 24–26. Each NexGen event’s prize money has been raised from INR 20 lakh to INR 25 lakh this season.
