Singer Rabbi Shergill has marked his comeback in film music with the song “Talash,” featured in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer “Main Actor Nahin Hoon.” Directed by Aditya Kripalani, the project is set to hit theaters on May 8th.
Sharing his thoughts on “Talash,” Rabbi expressed his delight, stating, “It’s amazing to see how a piece of music can acquire new dimensions when it becomes part of a brilliant film like this. Here’s wishing them all the luck!”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui also praised working with Rabbi, mentioning, “’Bullah ki janaa main kaun’ is one of my favorite songs. So when Aditya and Sweta told me they have a song by Rabbi for our film, I was excited, and then when I heard ‘Talash,’ it was so beautiful.”
Director Aditya Kripalani, reflecting on collaborating with Rabbi, shared, “I’ve loved Rabbi’s songs so much that a line from his song ‘Tere Bin’ is tattooed on my arm. So for me, it’s a milestone in my career as a storyteller. ‘Talash,’ the song, speaks about the very themes that the film speaks of – loneliness and how relationships can help us change for the better. And so it’s a welcome addition to the narrative of the film.”
“Main Actor Nahin Hoon” narrates the story of Mouni, portrayed by Chitrangada Satarupa, an actor in Mumbai who encounters Adnan Baig, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a retired banker in Frankfurt, through an online film audition. What starts as an acting session transforms into a personal journey as they connect over video calls, confronting vulnerabilities and truths while navigating their cities.
Written, directed, and produced by Aditya Kripalani, the film is co-produced by Sweta Chhabria Kripalani and Faizuddin Siddiqui.
