At least six women lost their lives, and three others were seriously injured in a tragic accident on the Jaipur–Bikaner National Highway in Rajasthan’s Sikar district. The incident occurred when an Ertiga car collided head-on with a truck near Harsawa village under Fatehpur police station limits around 4 p.m. The victims, all from the same family, were returning from Laxmangarh after attending a funeral, traveling in two vehicles.
The collision was so intense that the Ertiga was completely crushed, trapping the occupants inside the wreckage. Local residents who witnessed the accident rushed to the scene, assisting in rescuing the injured and retrieving bodies from the damaged vehicles before emergency services arrived. The injured individuals were initially taken to the trauma center in Fatehpur for medical attention but were later transferred to a facility with advanced medical facilities for further treatment.
According to Fatehpur police station officer Surendra Singh, the Ertiga was en route from Laxmangarh to Fatehpur, while the truck was traveling towards Sikar. Tragically, all the occupants of the car, who were from the same family, were returning home after a funeral, resulting in the loss of six women’s lives due to the collision. Authorities are in the process of confirming the identities of the deceased and injured individuals and notifying their families.
The truck involved in the accident has been confiscated by the police for investigation purposes, as authorities work to determine the cause of the tragic incident. Initial reports suggest that speeding may have played a role in the collision, although the possibility of mechanical failure or human error has not been ruled out. The traffic flow on the busy Jaipur–Bikaner highway was disrupted temporarily as rescue operations and clearance activities were conducted.
