A tragic incident occurred in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a six-year-old boy lost his life when a heavy iron gate from a day care center fell on him while he was playing nearby. The victim’s relative expressed concerns about negligence, stating that despite complaints, the gate at the ‘Bachpan Day Care Centre’ had not been repaired by the authorities. This center, established by the Uttar Pradesh government, caters to children with special needs and individuals with disabilities.

The mother of the deceased child recounted the events, highlighting the dilapidated state of the gate and the lack of action taken by the government despite warnings. According to her, the gate collapsed on her son when he touched it while playing. A neighbor identified the victim as the grandchild of a local woman, mentioning that the gate, already in poor condition, tragically fell on the boy while he was playing near it.

Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Manoj Singh mentioned that children often play near the gate of the day care center, and CCTV footage revealed a child attempting to open it. The cause of the gate collapse is under investigation. The child, who was visiting relatives in the area, unfortunately succumbed to the accident. The administration has pledged support to the grieving family during this difficult time.

In a similar incident earlier this month in Noida, a five-year-old boy met a tragic fate when a heavy iron gate collapsed on him while he was playing near his residence. Witnesses reported that the child was climbing on the gate when it gave way, leading to the fatal accident.
